Art studio
In our art studio and (weather permitting) outside you may keep yourself busy being creative in an artistic way. Adults as well as children may work here with the professional help of an experienced person.
Half a day (three hours) costs 10 euros (morning and/or afternoon). Register at the spot.
Working at the art studio
The following art forms are practised:
Soapstone carving
Soapstone is a soft kind of stone. It is specifically suitable for simple sculptures and is particularly interesting for beginning artists. The stone is shaped by filing and carving.
Painting stones
There is nothing as pleasant as making something out of materials found in nature. This goes especially for stones, as nature has split them to size and water polished them endlessly. Many suitable stones can be found in the immediate surroundings of ECOlonie.
Making mosaic designs
Make your own mall (bowl, vase, etc.) or buy one here ready made. Then you can decorate it with your own design of colourful mosaics of pieces of broken (mirror)glass or cut tiles.
Drawing and/or painting
ECOlonie and its direct surroundings can be very inspiring. The colourful herb gardens for instance or the vegetable gardens, the lakes, trees, orchards … They are perfect for developing your painting and/or drawing skills, aided by different techniques. Acrylic paints are used on wooden panels.
Sculpting
For people who would like to try out their sculpting skills on chalk or harder kinds of stone like marble or granite, this is the perfect opportunity.
